The implementation leveraged invoice capture and classification workflows consistent with Kofax and Brainware document processing technologies that Alexion used in its AP queue, and the solution was organized to handle high volume approved invoice processing and matching to purchase orders.
The Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable deployment integrated with Alexion's transactional systems, including SAP for financial posting and vendor master synchronization, and with Dolphin E Payables related processes where test scripting and validation were performed by AP staff. Operational coverage included vendor statement reconciliation, resolving invoice discrepancies, and maintaining utilities and other vendor accounts as part of routine reconciliations and payment runs.
Governance and process work focused on formalizing exception resolution workflows, authoring test scripts for Dolphin E Payables integration, and embedding reconciliation controls into daily AP operations. The program sat alongside integrations already developed for EC to SAP ERP HCM job info, org and position replication, EC to Benefit Focus demographic feeds, SAP BW reporting feeds, and Active Directory user action synchronization, with SAP PI and People Answers identified in the integration environment.
Governance emphasized integration requirement documents, detailed data mapping artifacts and end to end testing with functional consultants and payroll teams, with the integration developer producing deployment and operational runbooks. Operational scope centered on HR, recruiting and onboarding functions, embedding Sterling Background Check into the broader SuccessFactors-led HR process orchestration at Alexion Pharmaceuticals.
