In 2018 All-Fab Group implemented Epicor BisTrack as its Manufacturing ERP to centralize core distribution and finance operations. The rollout was owned by the corporate finance function, with the Corporate Controller accountable for the implementation and continued management of Epicor BisTrack while supervising an eight person accounting team at the Winnipeg corporate site for a 550 employee distribution business.
The implementation emphasized financial management capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, consolidated financial reporting, budgeting support and reporting automation. Inventory control, purchasing and sales order processing workflows were configured to align with distribution operations and job costing and reporting capabilities were extended to support acquisition-level financial integration.
Integrations included operational alignment and data integrity work between Epicor BisTrack and Microsoft Great Plains for consolidated financial processes, plus ongoing data security and record integrity procedures across both systems. Operational scope covered accounting, divisional managers for pricing and purchasing coordination, and the finance-led consolidation of new acquisitions into BisTrack based processes.
Governance and process change were driven by finance leadership through training and role development, the creation of standard financial workflows and audit facilitation responsibilities. The Corporate Controller led development of the Assistant Controller and a Business Analyst, and maintained responsibility for budget preparation, audit organization and the integrity and security of financial data in Epicor BisTrack and Great Plains.
