| Everledger | Legacy | Everledger Diamond Platform | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2019 | 2019 | In 2019 ALROSA partnered with Everledger to deploy the Everledger Diamond Platform, implementing a Blockchain Platform to capture diamond provenance from mine to retail. The deployment was designed to enable consumer verification of authenticity using a WeChat Mini Program, while retailers surface the provenance capability through white labeled storefronts rather than ALROSA selling directly to the public. The Everledger Diamond Platform was implemented using the Hyperledger Fabric protocol to create immutable provenance records and time stamped chain of custody entries for individual stones. Functional capabilities described in the implementation include asset registration at the point of origin, recording of custody and movement events across the supply chain, and a consumer-facing verification flow that exposes provenance metadata and authenticity checks via mobile QR and Mini Program interactions. Integrations in the rollout explicitly included the WeChat Mini Program as the primary consumer channel and retailer white labeling to distribute the verification experience through storefront partners. Operational coverage focused on the diamond supply chain and retail channels, with the system surfacing traceability information to end consumers on WeChat, leveraging China s dominant chat platform as the consumer touchpoint. Governance and process changes centered on embedding provenance capture into upstream mining and distribution workflows and enabling retailers to present provenance as part of sales and after sales engagement. The initiative was positioned by ALROSA and Everledger as reinforcing sustainable mining and transparent supply chain information, and Everledger s stated goal was to provide greater certainty of origin and journey for consumers using the Everledger Diamond Platform. | |
