In 2014, Ambarella Inc. implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to manage its core finance operations within an ERP Financial environment. The deployment used Oracle E-Business Suite on Oracle 12i to centralize transactional finance processes for the manufacturing organization.
The implementation focused on Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payments, Expense Management and Purchasing workflows. Accounts Payable workflows captured manual check runs and vendor invoice processing, supported biweekly check runs, monthly wire transfers for intercompany and international vendors, and included wire transfer processing, distribution and tracking for internal and external vendors. Expense Management processes routed international and domestic travel expenses into Oracle 12i and included auditing of expense reports for policy and SOX compliance with Travel Authorization support.
Operational coverage extended across Accounts Payable, Finance, Travel, Payroll and Legal functions, with the system used to process intercompany, legal and payroll invoices. Purchase requisition review and release was executed within the Oracle 12 ERP system, and staff managed vendor account onboarding through new and change vendor account requests submitted into the ERP Financial system. Routine finance operations included reconciling vendor statements, preparing account reconciliation journal entries for month end closing, and assisting in month end and quarter end close activities.
Governance and control measures were formalized, including writing standard operating procedures for full cycle Accounts Payable, auditing expense reports for documentation and SOX compliance, and preparing and filing Sales, Use Tax and 1099 forms. The finance team maintained correspondence and resolution workflows with vendors and internal stakeholders, completed special projects with varied complexity, and prepared journal entries in the General Ledger as part of month end close activities.

Absence plans were designed and configured to mirror company policies, including FMLA, PDL, CFRA, PTO and Jury Duty. The project performed rigorous testing on Absence plans and assisted client teams in user acceptance testing for Core HR processes, Absence plans and Benefit plans, while coordinating with an offshore delivery team to sequence deliverables.
Program governance included fit gap analysis, system design workshops with HR users, and the production of formal artifacts such as Business Requirement Documents, Business Blueprinting Documents, Configuration Documents, Test Cases and a Core HR User Manual. The implementation emphasized configuration, testing and user enablement, and established approval workflow and security governance for ongoing HR operations under Oracle Cloud HCM.
