In 2008, Ambiance U.S.A., Inc. launched GCS A2000 ERP as its Retail Management application to centralize order processing and warehouse operations for a 200 employee apparel manufacturer in the United States. The project placed a named Super User at the center of the rollout, with operational responsibility for daily shipping and receiving, order follow up, inventory checks, and payment issue resolution across the business.
GCS A2000 ERP was configured to support core Retail Management workflows, including order management, warehouse operations for scheduling daily pickups and deliveries, inventory control for more than 12,000 SKUs, and cycle counting and physical inventory coordination. Functional configuration emphasized transaction processing for receiving and shipping, inventory variance analysis and correction, and workflows to manage aged orders in cooperation with finance and sales.
Operational coverage spanned front-line warehouse teams, sales order management, and accounting coordination, with the Super User working directly with the Accounting manager and Sales manager to follow up aged orders. The implementation supported end to end order lifecycles, from pickup scheduling through invoicing and payment issue handling, with procedures for inventory reconciliation and variance analysis.
Governance and process ownership were formalized through the Super User role, reporting to the CEO, COO and CFO, participation in managers meetings with executives, and hands on responsibility for staff management including interview, hire, fire, training and evaluation. The governance model positioned the Super User as the primary system steward for GCS A2000 ERP, driving operational adoption across shipping, receiving, inventory and order management functions.
