Portable Class Libraries were developed for reuse in in house mobile projects and proof of concept work assessed Xamarin and Universal Windows Platform as alternative mobility approaches. IBM Application Center and MobileFirst Analytics were included to support app provisioning and usage telemetry. Infrastructure design and architecture were documented in high level and low level technical design artifacts covering system context and sequence diagrams, with MobileFirst and Maximo Anywhere deployed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 running on WebLogic and WebSphere application servers. The backend integration surface used J2EE and Java web services to connect Maximo services to the mobile tier, and the environment spanned Linux and Windows components along with iOS and Android endpoints. Build automation and a MobileFirst Application Center were implemented to streamline packaging and distribution. Project governance was led by a senior consultant serving as project lead and customer liaison, responsible for on site design, development, deployment, and user training on the Maximo Anywhere mobility project. The team produced infrastructure plans, coordinated client requirements and customizations, prepared weekly status reports, conducted periodic status reviews, and developed project plans and forecasts to manage delivery milestones.
