Business process mapping was performed with AS IS and TO BE analysis, GAP analysis, use cases, activity diagrams and data flow diagrams to drive requirements and design. Integrations were implemented with the ecommerce and enterprise stack explicitly referenced in project artifacts, including WebSphere commerce platform for ecommerce activity, IBM mainframe and DB2 for backend data feeds, Oracle components and Informatics for data interchange, plus middleware interfaces to Blue messenger CCA. The implementation included data capture, mapping, import routines, auditing, and creation of interfaces to synchronize inventory, order management and financial transactions across distribution centres and stores. Project governance used Agile Scrum with JAD sessions for requirements gathering, HP ALM, TFS and JIRA for test and defect tracking, and documentation of functional design including source to target mappings, business rules, system validation rules and UI requirements. A pilot study and presentation to Senior IT and business managers supported program buy in. The engagement explicitly targeted operational improvements, optimizing supply chain and logistics planning to reduce distribution centre errors and enhance product availability at stores, while aligning finance, sales and marketing processes to increase system utilization.
