The accounts payable workflow included assembling and sorting high-volume invoices for weekly check runs, downloading recurring invoices for processing, preparing ACH payment batches using Excel VLOOKUP and Pivot table methods, reconciling vendor accounts, and maintaining AP records.
Integrations and governance elements included uploading W-9 and 1099 vendor documents into Secure Docs as part of vendor onboarding and reconciliation, and managing employee and vendor email inquiries as part of AP support operations. The role also supported AP month end closing tasks, ad hoc finance projects, and training and supervision of new accounting support, formalizing approval and review checkpoints within the Sage Intacct ERP Financial environment.

AppFolio used Alteryx One Platform to refine the Cash Forecast process and to standardize flux analysis, and the team created a filter template for headcount statistics that saved time and increased consistency for the flux process.
Operational integrations included coordinated work with cross functional teams to implement a bot for daily cash processing, and Alteryx outputs were used to prepare monthly and quarterly free cash flow analysis for periodic filings and to support internal and external audit activities. The platform was positioned to feed recurring financial reporting and to automate routine data preparation in support of revenue recognition and gross margin analysis.
Governance centered on accounting and finance process ownership, with the lead accountant directing template standardization and workflow automation to reduce manual variance in reporting. Outcomes called out by the team included improved accuracy and efficiency in cash forecasting and demonstrable time savings and consistency gains in flux processes as a result of Alteryx One Platform usage.
