In 2023, ArborWorks implemented Sage Intacct as its core ERP Financial platform to replace Intuit QuickBooks Online and address multi-entity complexity across its nationwide operations. The decision responded to growth in project scale and headcount, and sought stronger controls, faster close cycles, and dimensional financial visibility for project-based services in environmental and vegetation management.
The deployment centered on configuring subledgers, approval workflows, and purchase order processing to enforce segregation of duties and spending visibility. ArborWorks and implementation partner Accordant Company redesigned the chart of accounts to align with forecasting and board reporting and enabled dimensional reporting for project-level profit and loss, allowing roll ups by customer and weekly flash margin reports for project managers.
Integrations were explicitly implemented with ADP for payroll and LeaseQuery for lease accounting, automating lease tracking and eliminating spreadsheet-based lease processes. The Sage Intacct environment supported consolidated reporting and intercompany workflows, removing manual consolidation steps and reducing duplicate data entry through these connected subledger and integration touchpoints.
Governance and process changes included formal approval routing, enforced controls that supported auditability, and movement away from spreadsheet-bound asset and lease tracking into systemized subledgers. The results reported include month-end close time reduced from 25 to 5 days, weekly flash reports for timely margin visibility, project-level P&Ls rolled up by customer through Sage Intacct dimensional reporting, and a clean audit outcome following the implementation.
