Odoo Legacy Odoo Manufacturing Manufacturing ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2023 2023
In 2023 Arizona Optical Metrology implemented Odoo Manufacturing as part of a consolidated Odoo Manufacturing ERP deployment hosted on Odoo online. The implementation centralized a suite of Odoo applications including CRM, Dashboards, Employees, Email Marketing, Marketing Automation, Social Marketing, Events, Data Recycle, Documents, PLM, Studio, Sign, Purchase, Manufacturing, and Sales to replace fragmented Excel and SharePoint based workflows used during earlier growth stages. Odoo Manufacturing was configured to support the companys custom optics production workflows, linking PLM driven design artifacts to manufacturing bills of materials and shop floor work orders. Configuration emphasized order specific routing for custom computer generated holograms, visibility into the master production schedule for concurrent custom jobs, and dashboarded forecasting to support inventory planning. The deployment reused Odoo Studio and Documents to capture design iterations and approvals, and Sign to formalize order acceptance and engineering sign off. Operationally the implementation united commercial and operations data so the sales team could see production availability and timing, and purchasing could plan component buys against forecasted demand. Data migration consolidated customer and order records previously held in spreadsheets into CRM and Sales records, while Dashboards enabled forward looking views of inventory and demand. The rollout covered the Tucson, Arizona office and the companys second office in New York, with an initial user base of eight operational users supporting sales, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing functions. Governance and process changes included centralized record ownership for customers and orders, formalized handoffs between preliminary design, quoting, and production, and adoption of forecast driven purchasing instead of reactive single unit buys. The cloud SaaS hosting model reduced on premise infrastructure needs and supported rapid access for a small team where employees perform multiple roles. Outcomes described by the company include improved visibility into multiple concurrent opportunities, the ability to manage roughly 20 active opportunities across the sales to production cycle, and better forecasting for inventory and purchasing. These operational improvements support Arizona Optical Metrologys short lead time business model, which the company reports typically runs at eight weeks and can be as fast as four weeks compared to competitors with three to four month standard lead times.
