| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2022 |
In 2019 Armstrong Flooring implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform, migrating from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize and modernize core finance processing. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment served Armstrong Flooring corporate finance and distribution finance functions across its United States operations, with explicit supportability for cloud execution on AWS and Azure and on-premise administration based in Lancaster, PA.
The implementation covered standard ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and financial close workflows, alongside SAP Project System elements referenced in the environment. SAP Fiori was deployed to modernize user experience and administrative interfaces, while SAP S/4 HANA administration and SAP HANA 2.0 database tuning were applied to support transactional performance and operational stability.
Integrations and surrounding systems tied directly into the SAP S/4 HANA landscape, including SAP BW, GTS, SAP web services, Solution Manager 7.2, GRC, ABAP and Java portals, BSI Taxware and Taxfactory for tax processing, Concur for expense integration, and warehouse systems including EWM and Red Prairie, plus Right Fax for document workflows. The environment hosted multiple database platforms during migration phases, including SAP HANA, Sybase, Oracle and SQL Server, and was instrumented for cross-system interfaces and trade and warehouse process continuity.
Governance and operational control were delivered through SAP Basis and change management practices, encompassing system and client copies, support pack application, Unicode conversions, database and operating system migrations and conversions, and SAP Basis tuning. Change and transport mechanisms included Rev-Trac, ChaRM, SPAM and CTS command line, overseen by SAP Basis architecture and S/4 administration processes to maintain release control, application lifecycle management and ongoing platform stability.

In 2018, Armstrong Flooring deployed Workable ATS as its Applicant Tracking System. The implementation used Workable Applicant Tracking System to publish jobs and manage candidate intake through a Workable-hosted careers flow, with configuration focused on requisition management, candidate sourcing capture, resume parsing, pipeline stage definitions, and interview scheduling functionality common to applicant tracking systems.
Operationally the Workable ATS is embedded on Armstrong Flooring's careers presence so external applicants apply via the apply.workable.com applicant flow, centralizing candidate records for recruiters and hiring managers. Governance emphasized standardized hiring workflows and permissioned access for recruiting teams, with pipeline stage and workflow configuration to align hiring stakeholders and to operationalize interview and offer coordination.

| Salesforce | Legacy | Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) | Field Service Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Armstrong Flooring implemented Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) to address Field Service Management needs across its distribution and field operations. The engagement emphasized Core Field Service Lightning FSL feature concepts as the central framework for managing service work and technician assignments.
The implementation covered standard Field Service Management functional modules, configured for Armstrong Flooring use cases, including work order and service appointment lifecycle management, scheduling and dispatch rules, mobile technician workflows, and resource and skills-based assignment logic. Core Field Service Lightning feature concepts were applied to enable case to work order orchestration, appointment booking, and on-device job execution for field technicians.
Architecturally the deployment leveraged the Salesforce Field Service application as a cloud-native extension of the Salesforce platform, using the FSL scheduling engine and mobile client patterns typical for the category. The design focused on orchestration between the service console, scheduling policies, and mobile workforce interfaces to support field execution and dispatch operations within the company’s service function.
Governance centered on configuring scheduling policies, service territory definitions, and role-based access for dispatchers and technicians, paired with structured configuration management to control FSL feature changes. Rollout and operational adoption emphasized aligning dispatch and field technician processes with the configured Field Service Management workflows, and training for users on the Salesforce Field Service mobile and console experiences.
