| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Aspen Technology implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform, establishing a centralized application footprint for Quote to Cash and product configuration processes. The implementation encompassed core Order Management, Pricing, Inventory, Bill of Materials and Shipping functionality, with Oracle E-Business Suite serving as the transactional backbone for finance and commercial operations.
The program included a technical upgrade of Oracle E-Business Suite from R12.1.3 to R12.2.10 and configuration work to support Quote to Cash workflows. Functional workstreams delivered form personalization for Oracle Shipping, UAT leadership for quote and order scenarios, and structured issue management using Smartsheet to track and close UAT defects, followed by functional support after production cutover.
Integrations and cross-platform workflows were implemented as part of the rollout, including a Salesforce CPQ implementation to replace Oracle Quoting and an Oracle to Salesforce integration for the Order object, with functional requirements, design artifacts and UAT support authored by Oracle SMEs. A parallel self-service licensing project implemented Sentinel EMS entitlement management with Oracle subject matter input, and the Product Delivery team used Oracle Configurator to publish BOM changes and configuration models, executing model similarity checks, single configuration model refresh, UI and generate logic refresh, and republish cycles.
Governance and operational ownership were organized around functional leads and coordinated offshore delivery, with explicit UAT ownership, issue tracking, and post-production functional support. The implementation directly impacted finance, sales quoting and order fulfillment, product delivery and licensing operations, with configuration and change controls embedded in release activities.

In 2021, Aspen Technology implemented Sterling Background Check to centralize its global BackGround Screening program for Talent Acquisition and HR. Sterling Background Check was configured as the primary screening application to support recruiting and onboarding workflows across AspenTech’s worldwide operations.
The implementation focused on configuration of candidate-initiated screening workflows, case management for background investigations, and operational reporting for TA and HR compliance. Sterling Background Check was instrumented to work alongside Workday Recruiting and Onboarding so screening events could be initiated from the applicant lifecycle and status updates captured for HR processes.
Operational integration points and touchpoints included Workday for screening initiation and status updates, Ivanti for HRIS ticketing and tier one support workflows, and procurement systems Oracle and Coupa for managing TA budget and purchase orders tied to vendor spend. The deployment covered Talent Acquisition, HRIS, IS, and HR teams, and extended to HQ and global executive hiring processes where scheduling and candidate experience were managed in concert with screening operations.
Governance and operational control were handled by the Talent Acquisition team with Workday recruiting admin controls, ticketing-driven support processes, end-user documentation, and coordination with HRIS and IS to improve data flows and security. Ongoing stewardship emphasized reporting, training, and continuous improvement of candidate experience and onboarding workflows using the Sterling Background Check application.

| Onit | Legacy | Onit SimpleLegal CounselGO | Legal Time and Billing | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Aspen Technology implemented Onit SimpleLegal CounselGO, deploying it as a Legal Time and Billing application to support corporate legal and finance workflows at the enterprise level. The deployment targeted Aspen Technology's centralized legal spend, matter management, and invoice processing functions across enterprise finance and legal teams.
Onit SimpleLegal CounselGO was configured to manage matters, vendor records, purchase orders, and invoices, with a user experience that emphasizes hyperlink-driven navigation between invoices, vendors, and matters. Administrative configuration included user provisioning and defining multi-level approval workflows, enabling finance coordinators and legal administrators to control access and approval hierarchies.
Operationally the application anchors invoice submission and review processes, allowing vendor-submitted invoices to be associated with matters and POs and enabling updates to POs and matters after invoice receipt as reported by the vendor-side workflow. The submitted user review highlights ease of use and strong customer support, noting the platform is user-friendly and easy to administer.
User feedback also documents feature limitations reported during the rollout, specifically the inability to edit invoice metadata after upload such as invoice number, date, or amount, and the lack of a mechanism to migrate invoices between vendor records instead of rejecting them. These governance and process gaps point to targeted configuration or product enhancements needed to align invoice correction and vendor consolidation processes with Aspen Technology's operational practices.
