In 2015, Athena Health Care Systems implemented Infrascale Cloud Backup to protect physical servers, desktops and laptops across a distributed workforce and to address HIPAA compliance requirements. The deployment was provisioned as a direct to cloud Backup as a Service (BaaS) SaaS model, enabling centralized data protection without on premise vaulting.
The implementation used Infrascale Cloud Backup capabilities aligned to endpoint and server protection, with agent based backup for desktops and laptops and file and system level protection for physical servers. A centralized management console and policy driven scheduling governed retention and restore workflows, supporting fast, reliable restores as a primary operational requirement.
Operational coverage was enterprise wide, extending across acquired facilities and multiple sites to consolidate backup administration under a single cloud service. The project impacted IT operations and compliance functions, streamlining backup administration across distributed locations while maintaining focus on endpoint resilience and server continuity.
Governance was adjusted to centralize backup policy and incident response procedures, simplifying management across acquisitions and standardizing restore procedures for clinical and administrative systems. The deployment delivered simplified management across acquired facilities and faster restores, and provided improved endpoint and server protection consistent with stated compliance needs.
