| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Atlas Copco Belgium implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform to consolidate finance and shared services for the AC Compressor Technique business area under a global Industry 4.0 program that covered more than 20 factories. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment was positioned as the corporate ERP Financial backbone for accounting and financial close workflows, and as the system of record supporting business area finance and operational reporting.
The program emphasized ERP template governance and a global migration strategy, executing migrations from named ERP systems BPCS, Scala, and Movex into SAP S/4 HANA. Core ERP Financial capabilities were configured in line with a global template, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, and master data harmonization, with automation of ETL patterns to enforce data consistency across sites.
Architecturally the implementation was integrated into a broader intelligence layer, with an architectural design and implementation of a global intelligence hub consisting of a data lake, ETL process automation, Big Data analytics, and AI that interfaced with SAP S/4 HANA. Multiple IoT and Edge insight analytics projects for smart manufacturing and field service and install base management were coordinated alongside the ERP rollouts, enabling transactional and operational data flows between shop floor telemetry and financial processes.
Governance and program oversight were formalized through enterprise architecture and master data forums, with the vice president of IS IT serving as chairman of the Enterprise Architecture Council and as a member of the Master Data Management Steering Committee. ERP template governance, centralized configuration control, and cross-functional coordination with the Digital Risk Cyber Security Board guided rollout sequencing and control across regions and factories.

In 2018 Atlas Copco Belgium implemented SAP BW/4HANA as its Data Warehouse to consolidate reporting and business intelligence for the Belgium manufacturing site. The SAP BW/4HANA deployment served enterprise reporting, data modeling, and analytics workflows used by operational and finance stakeholders.
The implementation emphasized data modeling on BI on HANA with creation of CDS views to structure semantic layers and enable reusable datasets. Technical work included refactoring ABAP logic into AMDP to push processing into the database and improve query performance, and configuration of data flows and infoobjects typical of a Data Warehouse implementation.
Operational coverage focused on business intelligence and reporting for manufacturing and support functions within Atlas Copco Belgium, aligning SAP BW/4HANA with downstream analytics consumption. The SAP BW/4HANA platform was positioned as the central data repository for analytical extracts and structured reporting workloads.
Governance activities centered on model validation, transport management, and performance tuning driven by the AMDP conversions. Performance improvements were explicitly noted as a result of moving ABAP processing into AMDP based procedures within the SAP BW/4HANA environment.

In 2015 Atlas Copco Belgium implemented Microsoft 365 to establish a standardized Collaboration platform for its approximately 3,700 employees. The deployment positioned Microsoft 365 as the primary Collaboration suite across corporate functions and field teams, providing a cloud-first foundation for enterprise email, team chat, meetings, and document collaboration.
The implementation was delivered as a cloud-hosted Microsoft 365 tenant, with common Microsoft 365 components configured for business use. Configuration work included mailbox and calendaring services, SharePoint Online for intranet and document libraries, OneDrive for personal file sync and mobility, and Microsoft Teams for persistent chat and meetings, with role-based access and group provisioning to align with departmental structures.
Operational coverage focused on communications, document collaboration, and knowledge sharing across sales, service, and corporate support functions in Belgium. Governance centered on centralized tenant administration, user provisioning and lifecycle controls, and information governance policies to manage access and retention for collaborative content, and the public website indicates visible use of Microsoft 365 services as part of the organizations collaboration footprint.
