In 2022 Avenue Bank implemented SAP Fioneer Core Banking, deploying SAP Fioneer Cloud for Banking as its Core Banking solution to underpin its specialist bank guarantee product and support the path to full licensing. The implementation was positioned to satisfy regulator expectations while providing a stable technology backbone for product development and launch.
The deployment included a customized configuration of SAP Fioneer Core Banking to align with Avenue Bank’s guarantee workflow, emphasizing customer onboarding, product configuration, guarantee lifecycle management, and data led capabilities to inform future product refinements. Configuration work focused on operational consistency and stability, enabling controlled testing with an initial customer set and subsequent scaling to live operations.
Operational coverage centered on Australia and spanned compliance, product, operations, IT, and customer service functions, reflecting the bank’s need to demonstrate regulatory controls to APRA and to streamline a fast guarantee issuance process. The solution was delivered with an end to end managed services support model that embedded service level agreements and performance commitments into daily operations.
Governance and contract management were formalized during the initial three year contract review, when Avenue Bank and SAP Fioneer redefined technical and support requirements to introduce greater flexibility and higher performance targets. Refined SLAs and updated support arrangements were used to codify responsibilities for incident response, platform performance, and operational reactivity.
As described by Avenue Bank, the SAP Fioneer Cloud for Banking foundation allowed the bank to obtain regulatory approval milestones including a restricted license and later move to a full ADI license, and to launch a bank guarantee product that can be issued in as little as 24 hours.
