In 2014 BACB plc initiated a relaunch of its IT strategy that led to deployment of Temenos T24 as its Core Banking platform. The program was driven by a newly appointed Chief Information Officer and an Executive Committee mandate to strengthen Trade Finance, Corporate Banking and Treasury Services and to enable expansion into North Africa and the Middle East using digital solutions.
Temenos T24 was implemented to provide core banking functions aligned to the bank’s corporate client focus, configured to support account and transaction processing, payments orchestration, trade finance workflows and treasury operations. Implementation work included application configuration, parameterization for corporate product sets and standard Core Banking operational processes such as ledger posting, customer master and transaction lifecycle management.
The program was accompanied by an infrastructure upgrade and a significant IT recruitment campaign to build in-house capability for operating the Temenos T24 environment at Head Office. Integrations were oriented around digital channels and back-office processing to centralize corporate banking operations and support the bank’s service expansion strategy, with operational ownership consolidated under the new IT leadership.
Governance was formalized under the Chief Information Officer and the Executive Committee, with the Temenos T24 implementation progressing through to production go-live in December 2018. The deployment positioned Temenos T24 as the central Core Banking system supporting BACB plc’s Trade Finance, Corporate Banking and Treasury Services.
