In 2014 Bake'n Joy implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as its ERP Financial application. The deployment was hosted on the companys virtualized infrastructure, with Windows Server and VMware servers fronting SAN storage, and Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne running as the core finance and accounting system supporting corporate financial controls and transaction processing.
Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne was configured to support core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting, and was aligned with order-to-cash workflows that connected to the companys Mail Order Management software. The implementation leveraged the applications native financial modules to centralize accounting transactions and inventory valuation processes, while preserving transactional interfaces for order processing and warehouse data capture.
Integrations were explicitly maintained with enterprise identity and messaging systems, Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne user accounts were managed via Active Directory and Exchange for authentication and notifications, and goods movement and scanning were supported through Intermec scanners that fed order and fulfillment records into the ERP stack. Operational coverage included helpdesk and application support for more than 200 users, enterprise domain, WAN and LAN administration using Meraki and FortiGate firewalls, and endpoint and email security stacks such as Office 365, Mimecast, MacAfee and Sophos.
Governance and operational controls included AD account provisioning, Exchange mailbox creation, hardware inventory and license management, and daily and weekly activity reporting to IT management. The Bake'n Joy implementation workflow emphasized centralized finance processes, IT ownership for infrastructure and application support, and hands-on operational maintenance by internal systems staff including onboarding and intern instruction.
