In 2023, Baptist Health implemented Oracle Cloud ERP, moving finance and HR to a single integrated cloud platform and replacing Oracle PeopleSoft ERP. The deployment positions Oracle Cloud ERP as an ERP Financial solution to centralize core financial management and human resources processes across Baptist Health Care’s network in Northwest Florida, supporting its large non-profit health system operations and enterprise payroll and benefits workflows.
The implementation focused on configuring finance and HR modules within Oracle Cloud ERP, consolidating disparate on-premises systems into a unified data model and automated transactional workflows. Configuration work targeted core general ledger and financial close capabilities, employee lifecycle and payroll administration, and the automation of routine HR and finance transactions to reduce manual reconciliation and improve data consistency across the organization.
Operational coverage was scoped to enterprise finance and HR functions across Baptist Health’s regional network, with governance emphasizing a single integrated cloud platform for reporting and process standardization. The move to Oracle Cloud ERP and the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite aimed to expand business insights, streamline operations, and enhance the quality of care and service by reducing system fragmentation and automating finance and HR processes.

| Willis Towers Watson | Legacy | Willis Towers Watson Employee Engagement | Employee Engagement | HCM | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Baptist Health implemented Willis Towers Watson Employee Engagement to centralize employee engagement and modernize Total Rewards and Employee Solutions across its Jacksonville community-based health system. The initiative targeted in- and outpatient sites and aligned HR and benefits workstreams with strategic partners including MD Cancer Center and Wolfson Children's.
Willis Towers Watson Employee Engagement was configured to support executive compensation alignment and short term incentive plan documentation, and to operationalize a new executive and director goal setting process tied to strategic initiatives. Functional capabilities implemented included executive and director goal setting workflows, job architecture and career frameworks introduced in partnership with Willis Towers Watson, medical plan redesign and the introduction of Lifestyle Spending Accounts, outsourced FMLA and short-term disability handling, and long-term disability harmonization. A three-year roadmap for compensation, benefits, well-being, and HR technology was established as part of the deployment.
The deployment included integration work with PeopleSoft, specifically embedding the new goal setting process within PeopleSoft and completing a PeopleSoft optimization review to identify areas to decrease complexity and increase capacity. Operational scope encompassed Total Rewards, benefits, compensation, well-being programs, and HR technology platforms across the system, with leadership training and structured change management tied to adoption of the new workflows.
Governance and rollout emphasized close partnership with local leaders and committee members due to two President and CEO changes and four CHRO transitions during the program period, requiring sustained stakeholder engagement and governance approvals. Outcomes explicitly recorded included the negotiated $2.5 in 5-year term savings in health and welfare opportunities and completion of the PeopleSoft optimization review.

| Epic Systems | Legacy | EPIC EHR | Electronic Health Record | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022, Baptist Health implemented EPIC EHR as its enterprise Electronic Health Record, with the Epic go-live occurring on July 30, 2022 and a consolidation effort to bring medication and clinical records into a single platform across its network. The deployment covered six hospitals, three free-standing emergency departments, an outpatient oncology clinic, and more than 200 ambulatory points of care, aligning inpatient and ambulatory medication workflows under one clinical record.
The implementation integrated an AI-driven medication history solution, DrFirst MedHx, to normalize medication instructions, translate national drug codes, infer missing sig details, and convert free-text instructions into discrete fields. Functional capabilities configured in EPIC EHR included structured medication reconciliation, pre-population of discrete medication sigs, continuity of care document conversion into Epic-readable formats, and clinician-facing workflow elements that surface normalized medication histories at the point of care.
Architecturally the program stitched MedHx inputs into Epic’s clinical workflow, ingesting six months of medication data from pharmacy benefit managers, external EHR extracts, pharmacy fill feeds and payer records, then pushing normalized, discrete medication data into EPIC EHR. Operational coverage extended to clinicians across hospitals and ambulatory practices, and the solution enabled medication history technicians to perform teleconsultation and complete structured medication histories remotely.
Governance and rollout were managed by Baptist Health’s clinical applications team, which engaged more than 170 clinic partners in pre-kickoff alignment beginning in early 2020 and documented existing medication reconciliation workflows to inform new Epic configurations. Baptist Health worked closely with Epic and DrFirst to build, test and validate configurations, then executed a training program and role-based security access to support adoption within clinical operations.
Post-implementation results reported by the health system include conversion of more than 7,352,000 medication sigs without clinician intervention using MedHx, inference of missing sigs for subsets of records, conversion of free-text sigs into discrete database fields, and identification of over 3,000 additional high-risk medication exposures across more than 1,700 patient medication profiles. These changes increased the availability of structured medication data inside EPIC EHR, reduced manual transcription work for clinicians, and improved the visibility of high-risk medications for safer prescribing and medication management.
