| Oracle | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2012 | 2014 |
In 2012 Barnes & Noble migrated its SAP ERP ECC 6.0 back-end financial functions into Oracle E-Business Suite, deploying Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial backbone to centralize financial processing. The program targeted consolidation of corporate financial operations and the creation of a consistent inventory valuation ledger across the retail estate.
The implementation included configuration and deployment of Inventory and Cost management to create an inventory subledger, and the migration of broad back-end financial functions into Oracle E-Business Suite. Technical deliverables referenced include RICE objects, forms and workflow customization, and support for Oracle EBS versions 11 and 12.1.3, indicating both functional module configuration and application level upgrades were part of the project scope.
Oracle E-Business Suite was operated alongside an existing PeopleSoft HCM and payroll environment, with integrations to surface payroll and HR data for financial posting and reporting. The program architecture reflected cross-application interfaces between Oracle E-Business Suite and PeopleSoft HCM, and the team maintained operational support including an onshore development and administration team plus offshore support for ongoing maintenance.
Governance was driven by an internal Financial Systems Project Manager who managed a five person development and administration team and provided technical project management across upgrades and implementations. The engagement delivered a migrated financial back-end and an inventory subledger built in Oracle E-Business Suite, with documented technical ownership of application artifacts and ongoing upgrade pathways for the ERP Financial environment.

| Infinite Computer Solutions | Legacy | Infinite BrassRing ( Formerly IBM Kenexa BrassRing ) | Applicant Tracking System | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Barnes & Noble implemented Infinite BrassRing ( Formerly IBM Kenexa BrassRing ) as its Applicant Tracking System. The deployment is visible on the company careers site via the BrassRing candidate portal, where job postings and application intake are routed through the vendor-hosted interface.
The implementation centers on Applicant Tracking System capabilities typical for high-volume retail hiring, including job requisition posting, candidate application intake, resume parsing and candidate workflow management, interview scheduling, and offer tracking. Infinite BrassRing ( Formerly IBM Kenexa BrassRing ) was configured to support recruiter workflows and requisition lifecycle management consistent with retail talent acquisition needs.
Integration into the public careers experience is explicit, the ATS is embedded on Barnes & Noble web pages and directs applicants to the BrassRing-hosted job detail and application pages. Operational coverage is focused on Talent Acquisition and HR operations, providing a centralized candidate repository and branded candidate experience through the vendor portal.
Governance was implemented through centralized requisition workflows and role-based access controls for recruiters and HR administrators, aligning hiring approvals and candidate dispositioning with corporate hiring policies. The implementation emphasizes pipeline orchestration and standardized hiring processes rather than custom downstream integrations beyond the careers site hosting.
