| SAP | Legacy | SAP Financial Supply Chain Management (SAP FSCM) | AR Automation | ERP | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Schwaebisch Hall implemented SAP Financial Supply Chain Management (SAP FSCM) to strengthen AR Automation across its finance organization. The deployment placed SAP Financial Supply Chain Management at the center of the institution's receivables architecture, establishing a single platform for accounts receivable orchestration and operational control.
Configuration focused on core FSCM capabilities aligned to AR Automation, including credit management, collections management, dispute and case handling, automated cash application, electronic invoicing and receivables reporting. The implementation emphasized rule-based workflows and process automation to standardize invoice-to-cash operations and exception routing within finance and credit functions.
Architecturally the solution was integrated into the broader SAP financial landscape, connecting receivables processes to the general ledger, payment channels and bank connectivity layers to support end-to-end cash application and payment reconciliation. Deployment patterns prioritized tight coupling with existing SAP financial data models and role-based access controls to preserve accounting integrity and auditability.
Governance and rollout centered on finance-led process standardization, with governance controls for workflow approvals, dispute escalation and credit policy enforcement. The program oriented operational teams in collections, credit and treasury toward centralized processes and automated orchestration without introducing non-SAP system dependencies.

The program was scoped to establish an SAP-based core banking platform as the technical foundation for lending operations and product servicing.
The implementation delivered core lending modules covering building society loans, advance and interim loans, annuity loans and associated insurance products, alongside configuration for loan lifecycle management, digitalization and automation of credit processing. Delivery was organized into 13 software releases and four migration tranches to enable incremental cutover while preserving operational continuity.
Wavestone served as the principal system integrator coordinating SAP Fioneer as software provider and a range of external specialists, with up to 300 people engaged during go-lives. The gradual transfer of existing business and associated data continued through 2022 and involved moving more than one million loan agreements while supporting office staff and field advisors across Germany.
