In 2017, Bci Senegal began group-level deployment of CapitalDigital, a Digital Banking application. Bci Senegal selected CapitalDigital to digitalize its banking services across its West African footprint, targeting mobile and online channels, and Senegal went live in 2019. The initiative centralized platform provisioning for mobile apps and online platforms to extend customer self-service.
CapitalDigital was configured to support mobile banking and online banking modules, enabling customer self-service flows, mass transfers, and streamlined product onboarding. Functional capabilities implemented included account access, peer and bulk transfer workflows, digital onboarding automation, and channel-specific user interfaces for mobile and web. These module selections align with standard Digital Banking functional stacks for retail and transactional banking.
Operational scope focused on retail banking and transaction processing across the bank group and frontline channels, with rollout sequencing from group-level deployment in 2017 to national production in Senegal in 2019. Governance emphasized phased rollout and channel consolidation, with business functions such as operations, customer service, and product management adapting workflows to support digital onboarding and self-service. CapitalDigital underpinned channel expansion efforts across the West African footprint.
