In 2019, BE-Rural implemented Mentimeter, deploying Mentimeter as its Survey and Questionnaire application to support development of educational materials on sustainability, the circular economy and the bioeconomy. The implementation emphasized interactive presentation design, leveraging Mentimeter functionality for live polling, quizzes and word clouds to increase engagement during facilitator-led sessions. The project was scoped to the organization’s education and outreach activities within a 10 person professional services firm, focusing on content creation and session-level interactivity rather than broad enterprise systems integration.
Configuration and operational use required close coupling of PowerPoint and Mentimeter workflows, with content creators using PowerPoint for slide sequencing and Mentimeter for in-session interaction and visual aggregation. Functional modules employed included live polling, multiple choice quizzes, open-text Q&A and visual aggregation configured per training session to support workshop-style delivery. Governance and rollout were managed through content owner review and facilitator training, with emphasis on subject matter expertise in sustainability topics and practical skills in PowerPoint and Mentimeter to produce interactive, engaging and educational presentations.
