Epicor Legacy Epicor Compass Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Benson’s Pet Center implemented Epicor Compass as its Analytics and BI solution alongside Epicor Eagle to centralize retail reporting and inventory analytics across its five store footprint. The deployment targeted store operations, merchandising, purchasing, and finance to support the retailer’s expansion and to provide enterprise grade visibility into inventory and sales performance. Epicor Compass was configured to provide dashboarding, inventory turns analysis, quantities on hand visibility, and ordering accuracy reporting, leveraging transaction and inventory datasets produced by Epicor Eagle. Configuration focused on retail analytics workflows and scheduled reporting to support store level replenishment, corporate purchasing, and merchandising decision making. Epicor data conversion specialists migrated historical data into the Epicor environment and Epicor staff conducted on site back office training during a five month planning and cutover period. Operational coverage included the corporate back office in Clifton Park, New York and all five retail locations, with primary business functions impacted being merchandising, inventory management, store operations, and finance. Governance was organized around a project manager led rollout with structured training and data conversion milestones and in store support. Reported outcomes included inventory turns increasing from three to a little over four, improved quantities on hand and ordering accuracy, and increased customer service through smarter merchandising.
