Oracle Legacy Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management Absence and Leave Management HCM Novalink Solutions 2021 2022
In 2021, Berkshire Hathaway Energy implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management as a targeted Absence and Leave Management capability within a broader Oracle HCM Cloud deployment. The implementation was executed alongside Core HR, Payroll, Time and Labor, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, and Learning modules to establish a unified HR and absence management platform. Novalink Solutions provided HCM Solution Architect resources during the project, with an HCM Solution Architect engaged May 2022 to August 2022 to support configuration and cutover activities. Workstreams included data mapping sessions and conversion requirement gathering for the listed HCM modules, proof of concept testing to assess feasibility of data conversions, development of BIP Reports for post-load validation and reconciliation, and addressing data quality issues surfaced during mapping. Architecturally the rollout used Oracle Integration Cloud OIC as middleware to orchestrate integrations across Oracle HCM Cloud modules and to support environment refresh scheduling with Oracle and the customer. Functional configuration centered on absence entitlements, accrual processing, absence request and approval workflows, and synchronization with Time and Labor and Payroll components to ensure payroll and timekeeping alignment. Governance and operational readiness activities included environment planning through go-live, coordinated refresh schedules, and formalized reconciliation processes using BIP reporting for data validation. The implementation narrative ties Berkshire Hathaway Energy, Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management, Absence and Leave Management, and impacted HR and payroll functions into a consolidated enterprise HCM architecture supported by Novalink Solutions.
