In 2015 Bernard Krone implemented the Shippeo Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platform to embed real-time ETA prediction capabilities into its trailer management offering. The deployment aligned with Krone’s Logistics 4.0 strategy to add connected services and support a trailer-as-a-service business model across its European markets.
The implementation focused on real-time ETA prediction as a core functional module, delivering estimated time of arrival services powered by Shippeo’s proprietary machine learning algorithm that references over 200 data parameters. Shippeo Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platform functionality was configured to surface shipment and delivery ETAs inside Krone Telematics, making ETA prediction a native capability of Krone’s trailer management solution.
Integration scope centered on data integration with Krone Telematics and customer telematics feeds, enabling visibility for customers who use Krone’s telematics or their own connected devices. Operational coverage targeted Krone’s footprint in 15 European markets and impacted transportation management and customer-facing logistics services within the company’s trailer operations.
Governance and rollout were structured as a global strategic collaboration with Shippeo to co-develop real-time data integrated services, with plans to extend the partnership into additional TaaS solutions. The implementation positioned Krone as the first trailer manufacturer to provide real-time ETA predictions within its own trailer management solution Krone Telematics, and the ETA service is described by Krone leadership as the most accurate and reliable available.
