In 2024 Berner implemented RELEX Supply Chain to renew its demand and supply planning capabilities under the Supply Chain Management category, aiming to centralize end to end inventory visibility and reduce manual planning work. Berner is a family owned consumer brands manufacturer and distributor operating through four business areas with subsidiaries in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Baltics, supplying products across hygiene, groceries, home care, wellbeing, leisure, childcare, daily accessories and beauty brands such as Herbina, LV, Nuxe, Clarins and Kikkoman. The rollout targets core supply chain planning functions rather than commercial systems, positioning RELEX Supply Chain as the primary planning engine for forecasting, replenishment and order orchestration.
The implementation focuses on RELEX demand and supply planning capabilities, including unified demand forecasting, inventory optimization and automated replenishment scheduling. Functional configuration emphasizes automated coordination of orders to multiple suppliers and automated adherence to specified ordering days, alleviating manual inventory transfers between warehouses and enabling proactive purchasing ahead of expected price increases. Berner has configured planning logic to address slow moving inventory and timing of purchases, leveraging RELEX Supply Chain to apply forecast driven replenishment and rules based ordering.
Operational scope spans supply chain and purchasing teams across Berner business areas and regional subsidiaries, with the system intended to provide end to end inventory control across warehouses and supplier flows. Business functions explicitly impacted include demand forecasting, purchasing and procurement, warehouse operations and inventory management, using RELEX Supply Chain to centralize planning workflows and improve cross site coordination. The deployment emphasizes visibility and control rather than bespoke upstream system integrations, keeping the focus on planning automation and supplier order orchestration.
Governance and process changes center on automating manual tasks and embedding new planning workflows into supply chain operations, shifting routine order coordination and interwarehouse transfers to system driven processes. Expected project goals called out by Berner include improving forecast accuracy and profitability, maximizing capital efficiency while reducing inventory costs and material spend, and reducing manual work. RELEX Supply Chain is positioned to deliver the stated outcomes of greater inventory control, automation of ordering cadence and timing, and the ability to purchase goods before price increases to protect margins.

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementation configured sales force automation, contact and account management, and marketing automation to support email marketing and newsletter workflows, and to manage renewed marketing material. SharePoint was implemented alongside Microsoft Dynamics CRM to provide document management and internal communication channels linked to CRM records. The project adapted CRM processes to capture trade fair leads and support external event workflows.
Integrations were developed between Microsoft Dynamics CRM and the selected ERP system to align customer master data and transactional flows, supporting unified customer records across sales and finance touch points. Additional integrations connected CRM, SharePoint, and other IT systems to enable end to end lead to order processes. Operational coverage included marketing, sales, HR related process support, and corporate communications.
Implementation work combined business process design, IT systems integration, and operational adoption activities, and the CRM was taken into production for business users. Governance emphasized process alignment between marketing and sales teams and coordinated management of marketing collateral and email marketing workflows.
