In 2020, Better Business Bureau of Middle TN & Southern KY implemented Gallup Q12 as an Employee Engagement solution. The deployment ran from January 2020 through November 2021 and was led by the Senior Vice President of Culture & Development who moved from an executive coaching role into operational leadership to drive culture change and revenue growth initiatives.
The implementation centered on Gallup Q12 assessment delivery, centralized survey administration, recurring measurement cadence, item level and composite analytics, and structured action planning workshops. Coaching and leader development were embedded as core capabilities to translate Q12 diagnostic results into team level performance and conflict resolution interventions.
Rollout covered HR, culture and development functions and specifically targeted three revenue producing departments that were restructured as part of the program. Operational coverage was organization wide across the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky region and included leader cohorts and department level action plans.
Governance combined periodic leadership reviews of Gallup Q12 dashboards with facilitated conversations, training and hiring processes aligned to engagement objectives. The Senior Vice President coached business partners at all levels, instituted structured performance conversations, and led diversity focused trainings to change hiring and retention practices.
Outcomes captured by the Gallup Q12 program included an 11 percent increase in employee engagement scores in the first year, net revenue increases in Q1 and Q2 2021 averaging 53 percent following the departmental restructure, organization wide retention rates rising to 86 percent, and a 20 percent increase in staff diversity. Coaching and action planning supported improved performance and conflict resolution across the organization.
