In 2017 Biocodex migrated from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The transition established a consolidated financial reporting foundation under the Reporting and Consolidation Manager and formalized group consolidation processes across the organization.
Implementation centered on core finance and controlling capabilities, with explicit focus on the CO module within SAP S/4 HANA for cost accounting and profit and loss analysis. The deployment included SAP BFC for group consolidation and a BI suite including BO to deliver a multi axis analytical P&L and consolidated reporting structures.
Operational scope covered group consolidation, gross margin parent company and group analysis, industrial costing, royalties, transfer pricing and cash management workflows. The rollout integrated companies within the group using tools in the SAP S/4 HANA suite and linked cash management processes to Kyriba through participation in the Kyriba deployment project team.
Governance and process ownership were assigned to an in house SAP S/4 HANA referent who acted as CO module subject matter expert, SAP BFC administrator and trainer, and manager of a two person consolidation team, collaborating directly with consultants for configuration and development. Achievements recorded include SAP BFC delivered from design to deployment at the end of 2017, deployment of a multi axis analytical P&L via SAP and BO, integration of group companies for business processes and systems, and optimization and automation of existing processes.

The implementation significantly reduced payroll variable processing time, reported as up to a week saved per month, while increasing on-site manager autonomy for planning and roster adjustments.

In 2017 Biocodex deployed SAP BusinessObjects as a central Analytics and BI platform to support group financial reporting and consolidation. The implementation positioned SAP BusinessObjects alongside the SAP S4 HANA suite to serve corporate finance and reporting functions across the group.
The deployment focused on group consolidation and multi axis analytical profit and loss reporting, including turnover by business unit and product family, P and L by business unit, and gross margin reporting for both the parent company and the consolidated group. Functional capabilities implemented include multi axis analytical P and L via SAP and BusinessObjects, consolidation workflows managed through the BFC consolidation tool, and cost and industrial costing analysis tied to the SAP CO module.
Architecturally SAP BusinessObjects was integrated with SAP S4 HANA data sources and the BFC consolidation layer, and the finance function also worked with Kyriba for cash management as part of the broader information systems landscape. The implementation involved administration and training responsibilities for BusinessObjects, direct coordination with consultants for development needs, and instrumentation of reporting feeds from SAP S4 HANA to the BI layer.
Governance and rollout activity included a full SAP BFC design to deployment cycle completed by the end of 2017, the deployment of multi axis analytical P and L reporting, and the integration of newly acquired group companies into common business processes and reporting tools. Operational governance covered consolidation, forecasting, royalties and transfer pricing workflows, and the team structure included a reporting and consolidation manager with two direct reports who administered, trained on, and optimized the SAP BusinessObjects and BFC based processes.
