In 2015, Biogen Idec UK implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial application. The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment was positioned to support EFPIA Disclosure requirements and to account for all disclosure reporting using source systems such as Oracle, iExpense, Consumate Provider and MYASR.
The implementation included a strong focus on Reference Data Management, with subject matter expertise applied to Geo Alignment, Product Master and Sales Targets maintenance across affiliates. Master Data Management activities spanned Veeva and Salesforce, and the team operationalized automated intelligence reporting using QlikSense for business intelligence and Alteryx for report automation. Sales Integrator was used to process third party sales data to ensure weekly and monthly updates surfaced in FACE Preview and to create a data reconciliation process for sales and revenue verification.
Integrations and operational coverage extended across commercial and compliance functions, with Veeva CRM administration for UK and Ireland, Veeva Vault for digital material management working with the EU plus Multichannel Team, and Veeva Network for OpenData governance. The deployment supported close cooperation with programmers and internal staff to develop and test expense capture workflows, and handled secure client transfer file processing using a guided secure transfer protocol rolled out to over 15 clients.
Governance and process controls included creation and maintenance of mapping and training materials for a European network, participation in Go No Go decision making based on impact analysis, user acceptance testing and test case coordination, and provision of end user training. For the Align platform initiative the team outlined segmentation rule requirements, defined territory and assignment rules for UK and Ireland by business unit, performed Align rule validation and updated geo alignment mapping to correct HCP address and affiliation discrepancies.
Explicit operational outcomes documented in the program include the Align platform objective to minimize data quality errors and to reduce the number of FTEs and time required to manage alignment processes. The program also assured accurate and complete EFPIA transactions, kept stakeholders informed of project developments, and supported secure transfer protocol adoption across a multi client rollout.
