In 2021 Bird Construction implemented 4CastPlus across Western Canada with Jetsoft Group as the vendor, targeting centralized project controls and operational consistency. The deployment focused on standardizing project controls, jobsite tracking, procurement and customer billing that had previously been managed in spreadsheets, with configuration to support large scale bids and project execution.
Configuration emphasized 4CastPlus modules for project controls, schedule driven jobsite tracking, procurement workflows and accounts receivable billing, with estimating usage inferred as part of the broader project-controls/estimating suite. Implementation work included establishing cost breakdown structures, estimating templates and cost forecasting workflows to align field progress with financial control processes.
Operational coverage ran across regional project teams, project managers and estimating groups in Western Canada and explicitly supported execution on a $300M project, linking site data to centralized cost control and reporting. Rollout followed phased regional deployments and introduced standardized estimating and project control workflows to improve data consistency and governance.
Governance changes centered on centralized reporting and formalized cost control processes to support bid accuracy and execution oversight. The 4CastPlus deployment delivered improved real-time reporting and increased profitability as reported, and institutionalized a single source of project control information for bid through execution activities.
