Oracle Legacy Oracle NetSuite ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2020
In 2019, Bird implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial system to centralize financial accounting and inventory controls. The Controller's office led deployment governance, and a hybrid role combined fixed assets and global inventory management responsibilities while working cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations. Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured to support purchase capitalization, asset management records and reconciliations, and inventory costing workflows. The controller-level role established policies and procedures to account for the scooter fleet and educated Supply Chain teammates on recording inventory transactions and product costing. Bird partnered with Data Engineering to build a tracking system using Business Intelligence Tableau to capture the scooter lifecycle, feeding acquisitions, depreciation and disposals into Oracle NetSuite ERP. The implementation included a transition from Google documents into systemized inventory transaction workflows and lifecycle recording within NetSuite. Operational rollout covered global physical inventory coordination and month-end control activities, the team coordinated Bird's first global physical inventory between auditors and local teams. Governance changes included documented policies, training for Supply Chain on transaction posting and routine reconciliations, and the Controller produced monthly variance and discrepancy analyses for senior management.

Tableau Software Legacy Tableau Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Bird deployed Tableau for Analytics and BI to centralize operational reporting and support operations management and revenue optimization across its scooter and micromobility business. The Tableau implementation targeted field operations and operator management, specifically supporting 45 local operators across the Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and North Dakota metro areas. The deployment emphasized operational dashboards, interactive maps, and geo-analytics workflows that align with vehicle allocation and utilization planning. Tableau dashboards and visualizations were configured to surface utilization KPIs, allocation candidates, market-level performance, and time-series trends to support operator coaching and decisioning. Tableau was used alongside Metabase and GeoJSON as part of Bird’s analytics stack, with GeoJSON powering geospatial map layers and Metabase referenced as a complementary analytics tool. Governance and adoption were driven by an internal advocate and business coach role that standardized dashboard interpretation, embedded Tableau-enabled workflows into operator coaching and client onboarding, and orchestrated training and ongoing user support for frontline operations teams.
