Integration with NetSuite provided transactional posting of depreciation and a single source of truth for fixed asset ledgers, reducing reconciliation effort between asset records and the general ledger. The operational scope covered the finance department in South Dakota and included process standardization for asset capitalization and audit readiness. According to the vendor case study, Black Hills Works halved asset creation time to about five minutes per asset, regained confidence in depreciation accuracy, and simplified audit preparation. Governance centered on standardized depreciation schedules and mandatory attachment of supporting documentation to asset records to strengthen audit trails and control over fixed asset accounting.
