In 2020, Books Kinokuniya implemented Nulab Backlog, adopting a Collaboration application to centralize project and task management across retail and corporate teams. The deployment focused on creating a single workspace to align planning for merchandising, store operations, marketing and corporate projects.
Nulab Backlog was configured to provide issue tracking and task management, project boards for concurrent initiatives, a shared wiki for campaign and process documentation, file attachments and threaded comments to keep work contextual. Role based permissions and project templates were applied to standardize workflows, enforce ownership and control access across projects.
The implementation covered cross functional operational scope within the retailer, bringing merchandising, store operations, marketing and supporting IT teams onto the same platform to coordinate campaign planning, store projects and recurring operational tasks. Workflows were instrumented to support assignment, review cycles and notification routing consistent with Collaboration application practices.
