In 2023, Booksy expanded its Datadog deployment to include Datadog Real User Monitoring and Error Tracking as part of its Customer Analytics efforts supporting Product / Customer experience. The expansion targeted web and mobile platforms across global markets and centralized observability to give SRE and product teams unified telemetry and session context.
The Datadog Real User Monitoring implementation instrumented over 50 custom RUM metrics and enabled full session error capture, pairing RUM with Error Tracking to correlate frontend user behavior with backend performance. Datadog Real User Monitoring was configured to surface real user telemetry, session level context, and unified frontend and backend metrics within the Datadog platform to accelerate triage and release validation.
Operationally the deployment realigned workflows for SRE and product teams to use a single observability plane, enabling unified incident detection and deployment verification for Product and Customer experience functions. Per the Datadog case study, teams reported reductions in user impacting errors and resolution of specific issues such as iOS logout incidents, and the observability expansion supported increased deployment frequency through faster feedback loops.
