In 2016, Braskem implemented Coupa LLamasoft as its Supply Chain Management platform to support procurement and services sourcing for projects, inspection, complementary maintenance, IT and instrumentation. The implementation was part of a digital supply chain platform project where internal SR Supplies analysts served as key users and operational owners for configuring service procurement workflows. Coupa LLamasoft was configured to manage sourcing and contract lifecycle activities for industrial services, including requisition to purchase order workflows, services procurement clauses, and contract portfolio visibility. The environment consolidated a portfolio of more than 60 contracts with an aggregated value of approximately R$500 million, and it was used to govern multidisciplinary services procurements and contractor engagement practices. Operational coverage included Braskem sites in Sao Paulo and the surrounding region in Brazil and focused on procurement and maintenance planning functions. The platform supported direct monitoring and support for a plant maintenance shutdown in August 2017, coordinating the hiring of more than 40 multidisciplinary processes that resulted in over BRL 20 million in contracted work. Coupa LLamasoft also supported an infrastructure sourcing project for temporary housing modules for PGM maintenance, where the chosen approach realized 25% of the forecasted cost, documented as R$1.5 million in savings. Governance changes emphasized key user stewardship and centralized supplier negotiation strategies, notably renegotiation of access contracts for climbing, lifting platforms and scaffolding by applying scope synergy across national services. Braskem used Coupa LLamasoft to standardize services procurement procedures and to institutionalize contract negotiation workflows, reinforcing the relationship Braskem Coupa LLamasoft Supply Chain Management procurement and maintenance sourcing business functions.
