In 2016, Breedon Group implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform to support post acquisition integration activities for the Hope business. The program was project managed to deliver SAP integration and re platforming, positioning SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the core ERP Financial system for finance and procurement functions.
The implementation scope included configuration of finance and procurement ledgers, a new chartered set of accounts for cement operations, and mapping of plant maintenance procedures into SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The project also scoped, designed and project managed a new customer invoice solution replacing conventional local print and post with bulk printing, e mailing and EDI to standardize billing and collections workflows.
Deployment architecture work included re platforming SAP systems to Amazon AWS and transitioning hosting, technical, security, functional and enterprise support to new suppliers. The Cement Applications Integration Project defined interfaces between SAP and Sun System through multiple third party vendors, aligning finance, procurement and plant maintenance interfaces with the ERP Financial platform.
Governance centered on formal project management, scope documentation and business change to support new IT systems across finance, procurement, plant maintenance and customer billing. The program delivered an explicit annual business saving of £657k and the customer invoice redesign was budgeted to deliver a further £60k per annum.

| MHR (formerly MidlandHR) | Legacy | MHR iTrent HR | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022, Breedon Group implemented MHR iTrent HR as its Core HR platform. An interim HR Operations and Systems Consultant completed a comprehensive audit of Breedon’s HR operating model, systems and end to end HR processes, and presented HR transformation recommendations that were accepted by HR executives and prioritized the creation of an HR shared services structure, payroll integration into HR, a new ATS and a document management system.
MHR iTrent HR configuration included activation and deployment of the DLX Document Logistix module within i-Trent and the development and deployment of underutilized i-Trent functionality to support core HR administration and payroll processing. The implementation work focused on functional configuration, system provisioning for HR case and document management, and extending i-Trent capability to support consolidated payroll workflows within the UK payroll team.
The program led the tender and contract negotiations and delivered an integrated ATS implementation, deploying Pinpoint with a Pinpoint to i-Trent API integration to handle requisitioning, candidate tracking, interview management, offers and onboarding. Operational coverage included migration of two payrolls from Breedon’s Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland businesses into the i-Trent UK Payroll Team and deployment of DLX and ATS capabilities to the wider HR community.
Governance and rollout were managed through executive approvals, formal tender and contract negotiation processes, and go live events for the ATS and DLX module. The program also concluded negotiations for a new 5 year i-Trent contract, aligning commercial terms with the technical and operational roadmap for HR shared services and payroll consolidation.
As executed, Breedon’s HR transformation delivered the planned structural changes that were specified in the accepted recommendations, including formation of an HRSS, integration of payroll into HR, implementation of a new ATS and document management system, and completion of go live activities for both Pinpoint and DLX within the MHR iTrent HR environment.

In 2024, Breedon Group implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management solution. The IBM Maximo deployment was delivered in collaboration with systems integrator MaxIron under a £1.5m program and targeted two operational sites in Derbyshire, United Kingdom, with a rollout spanning August 2024 to April 2025.
The implementation centered on asset monitoring and management capabilities, putting emphasis on predictive maintenance and reliability planning within IBM Maximo. Configuration activity included establishing an asset register and condition monitoring workflows, alongside work management and planned maintenance sequencing to support maintenance and reliability engineering functions.
Operational integrations and tooling during delivery included SharePoint Online and OneDrive for project document storage and collaboration, with Microsoft Project Server and Azure DevOps used to manage the overall project plan, RAID logs and financial tracking. The deployment covered frontline maintenance and operations teams, extending to central asset management and engineering stakeholders at the two sites.
Project governance was enforced through formal approval of contracts, regular stakeholder reporting to heads of function and the Finance Director as project sponsor, and quality controls tied to SharePoint Online based documentation. The PMO maintained schedule and risk oversight using MSP and DevOps, while financial management and RAID processes were explicitly managed throughout the delivery.
IBM Maximo was delivered to the two sites successfully, providing a structured Enterprise Asset Management platform for condition-based monitoring and reliability planning, and establishing operational workflows and governance for ongoing asset management activities.
