| ORTEC | Legacy | Ortec Finance PEARL | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 The Beer Store deployed Ortec Finance PEARL as its Asset Performance Management platform to centralize warehouse and route planning functions across its distribution center operations. The deployment targeted DC Warehouse #3630 and DC Warehouse #3640 in Sudbury and was executed under a contract that ran from December 2018 to December 2019.
Ortec Finance PEARL was configured to support planning and execution modules including route optimization, load planning, dispatch management, and operational reporting. The solution was used to generate dispatch reports, customer reports, pick slips and load plans, and to enforce planning rules for truck capacity, labor hours and time windows, aligning operational scheduling with available resources.
The implementation integrated with inventory systems SAP IM and SAP EWM to align stock and order data with route plans, and with the GEOTAB GPS system to update vehicle assignments and track route execution. Operational workflows also connected to a Ticket Management System and an Internal Management Ticket System for customer inquiries and exception handling, and planning teams coordinated with Cross Docks and a defined customer base that included Licensees, LCBO, The Beer Store, Empty Bottle Dealers, Retail Partners, Grocery and Brewery orders.
Operational governance defined daily review of truck lists, customer groupings and early or late calls, while Logistics Supervisors at the Beer Store DC warehouse maintained responsibility for procurement, maintenance, distribution and replacement planning to ensure item availability. Planners were required to monitor ticket queues, produce detailed communications such as ODR supplies reports, Load Delays and Assembly Error Tracking, and to assess and escalate potential risks or losses to Supervisors or Managers.
