| Atlassian | Legacy | Atlassian Confluence | Collaboration | Collaboration | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Bright Machines implemented Atlassian Confluence as its Collaboration platform to centralize legal knowledge and project artifacts. The deployment served the internal legal department and company-wide users, positioning Atlassian Confluence as the primary Collaboration tool supporting legal operations.
The Atlassian Confluence instance was configured as a legal knowledge management wiki containing a legal matter tracker, outside counsel list, internal contact list, and a legal clause library. Configuration work included space-level organization, page templates, access permission schemes, and metadata tagging to support document indexing and matter-level navigation.
Confluence was used alongside SharePoint, Ironclad Contract Lifecycle Management, and the NAVEX training system, with Confluence content cross-referenced to contract metadata administered in Ironclad and to document indexes maintained for transaction workstreams. The implementation supported coordination of a SPAC IPO by providing a centralized legal repository and an indexed reference set that complemented the Virtual Data Room.
Operational governance was led by the Legal Operations function, which administered Atlassian Confluence, maintained project plans, tracked assignments, enforced permission controls, and drove content hygiene. The wiki supported workflow standardization and operational metric tracking, enabling process improvements that increased collaboration between internal teams and outside counsel.

| Ironclad | Legacy | Ironclad CLM | Contract Lifecycle Management | Content Management | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 Bright Machines implemented Ironclad CLM for Contract Lifecycle Management to centralize contract intake, metadata capture and repository functions for Legal Operations. Ironclad CLM was positioned as the primary Contract Lifecycle Management application to support contract authoring, approval routing and storage across the company legal function.
The implementation emphasized system administration and metadata governance, with a Legal Operations lead administering Ironclad CLM to ensure full optimization and accuracy of contract metadata. The team participated as a beta tester for Ironclad’s Smart Import tool and configured category-aligned workflows such as intake forms, metadata tagging and approval routing consistent with Contract Lifecycle Management capabilities.
Operational integrations and content consolidation included creation and management of a Virtual Data Room for a SPAC IPO where thousands of documents and contracts were compiled and secured for outside counsel and investor review. A Legal Repository was created using SharePoint and a Confluence knowledge management wiki to house a legal matter tracker, outside counsel list, internal contacts and a clause library, enabling cross functional access for both the legal department and company wide users. The Legal Operations lead also served as single point of contact for the NAVEX compliance training system for all employees, administering users and course assignments.
Governance focused on centralized administration, project planning and process controls, including maintaining the Ironclad CLM instance, prompting executives for deliverables during the SPAC process and redistributing tasks to ensure timely completion. Legal tracked and reported operational metrics, identified inefficiencies and implemented process improvements to improve collaboration between legal and internal and external clients. The NAVEX administration process achieved over 98% company wide completion rate as an explicitly stated outcome.
