Finastra Legacy Finastra Fusion Phoenix Core Banking ERP Services and Operations n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, British International Investment implemented Finastra Fusion Phoenix as its Core Banking platform. The deployment was anchored to the organisation's treasury and custody priorities, supporting treasury operations that manage multi billion US dollar portfolios and local currency funding across Africa including South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Zimbabwe, and South East Asia including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. Finastra Fusion Phoenix was configured to provide core banking transaction processing, customer and account ledgers, deposits and payments processing, and general ledger integration to support cash management, FX operations and working capital forecasting. Configuration work emphasized multi currency account structures and payments rails consistent with banking operations required by investment and treasury teams, and included parameterization to support cash sweep, settlement and custody workflows for publicly listed equity and bond holdings. The implementation was integrated with the Treasury Management System as overseen by treasury, explicitly linking to 360T and Finastra components, and the project supported connection points to the asset portfolio management tool eFront. Governance and process changes were driven by treasury leadership, including the formalisation of cash management and FX policies, incorporation of sustainability linked loan targets into funding arrangements, and the establishment of custody and banking relationship procedures to align operational workflows with the new Core Banking platform.
