In 2019 Broadcom implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Workday HCM deployment, positioning Workday Absence Management within Absence and Leave Management to align HR and payroll functions. The implementation targeted absence, time tracking, benefits, payroll and compensation workflows across Broadcom's US multi state payroll operations and HR service teams.
The deployment included configuration of Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Time tracking and Absence management modules, with detailed setup of absence and sick leave plans, eligibility rules, event types, pay code configuration, salary and hourly plans, and allowance plans. Workday calculated fields, custom reports including Advanced, Matrix, Composite and BIRT reports, and Reports as a Service endpoints were developed to support absence reporting, business process routing and payroll interfacing.
Integration architecture used Workday integration tools and external middleware explicitly, including Core Connector, Cloud Connectors for Benefits and Payroll, Enterprise Interface Builder, Workday Studio, MuleSoft for cloud and on premise connections, and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services for ETL. Inbound and outbound integrations were exposed as SOAP and REST services, and interfaces were instrumented to feed payroll, benefits and financial systems while support teams monitored integrations and performed root cause analysis for complex interface errors.
Governance and rollout included creation and maintenance of Supervisory Organizations, cost centers and cost centre hierarchies, modification of Workday business processes, and a formal testing regimen. Testing included system testing, end to end testing and user acceptance testing with an integration test scope exceeding 50 integrations, support for mass data loads via EIB, and operational activities such as payroll reconciliations and ongoing payroll support tied to absence and leave rules.

In 2018 Broadcom implemented AppWorx Workload Automation as a centralized component of its Business Process Management toolset to formalize enterprise job orchestration and scheduling. The deployment focused on AppWorx Workload Automation and associated Automic Automation and Applications Manager engines, with configuration aligned to enterprise scheduling, event triggers, and remote execution patterns typical of workload automation platforms.
The implementation encompassed functional modules for job scheduling, job flow orchestration, event-driven triggers, remote execution, and web service integration. AppWorx Workload Automation was configured to support a broad set of operational job types, including FTP transfers and REST and SOAP web service calls, and to interface with batch and interactive application workflows.
Operational integrations documented and supported as part of the rollout included Business Objects, Ellucian Banner, Hadoop, Hyperion components including EPMA and ESSBASE, FDMEE, Informatica, JD Edwards, JMS, Oracle E Business Suite, Oracle Retail, and other application services and databases. Documentation and operational runbooks were produced and maintained using MadCap Flair and Adobe Experience Manager, and parallel documentation coverage existed for AutoSys Workload Automation, Workload Automation CA 7 Edition, ESP dSeries Workload Automation, and Workload Automation ESP Edition engines.
Governance was reinforced through centralized documentation, post migration clean up in Adobe Experience Manager, and editorial oversight for internal writers to standardize runbooks and operational procedures across application teams. The program emphasized consistent documentation of AppWorx Workload Automation configurations and integrations for application services, databases, ERP systems and data integration utilities to support day to day operations and change control.
