Operational coverage extended through coordination with Benefits, the HR Services desk, HRIS, and Brookfield’s Canadian team in Toronto to align cross border payroll activities. The program integrated three newly added companies totaling about 1000 employees and brought their weekly and biweekly payrolls live by January 2020, and completed a time collection migration from Ceridian time clocks to Kronos time clocks in May 2020.
Governance and process restructuring included testing and revising standard operating procedures across the payroll department, co-led meetings to align end to end workflows, and routine audit controls such as an annual workers compensation audit and four internal or external audits each year. The payroll analyst team also managed hiring and performance follow up in collaboration with the payroll manager, embedding ongoing operational oversight into the ADP SmartCompliance driven payroll tax processes.
