Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial ERP n/a 2022 2022
In 2022, BurgerFi implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to centralize and standardize finance and accounting across its restaurant portfolio. The deployment targeted ERP Financial workloads and positioned Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the companys core system for general ledger, reporting and controls across both Anthonys Coal Fired Pizza and BurgerFi brands. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was configured with core financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and cash management. The implementation built category-aligned purchase-to-pay workflows, including purchase orders and invoice automation, and incorporated new purchasing card and travel and expense controls into finance processes. These functional capabilities supported finance transformation activities led by corporate finance leadership. The rollout supported consolidation and stabilization of accounting teams across more than 160 franchised and corporate locations, and was administered by a central finance organization of roughly 20 staff covering Accounting, Accounts Payable, SEC Reporting, Compliance, Tax and Continuous Improvement. Operational changes included deployment of smart safes across 60 locations to improve cash handling and working capital processes, and the program explicitly advanced a robust P2P process across both brands. Governance and process restructuring accompanied the technical deployment, with strengthened internal audit and compliance programs, SOX readiness efforts, and a departmental reorganization to reduce dependency on external consultants. Outcomes explicitly stated include implementation of new purchasing card and T&E programs, improved working capital via smart safes across 60 locations, and ongoing implementation of invoice automation and purchase orders within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial environment.
