In 2017, the California Earthquake Authority (CEA) implemented Insuresoft Diamond Suite - Rating Engine as part of its Central Policy Processing CPP program, bringing Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) online as the second participating insurer. The CEA implemented Insuresoft Diamond Suite - Rating Engine, an Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine, to centralize policy administration for California residential earthquake coverage and to provide a single transactional platform for CEA and its participating insurers.
The implementation delivered centralized policy-administration functions and a configurable rating engine, leveraging Insuresoft’s fully integrated policy, billing, and claims-processing capabilities. Insuresoft Diamond Suite - Rating Engine was configured to support CEA-specific underwriting and rating workflows and to provide the transaction processing and configurability noted by CEA as required for a multi-PI model.
Integrations focused on standardized data exchange between CEA’s central system and participating insurers, simplifying connectivity for PIs across the CPP program. Red Hawk Insurance Services assisted with the implementation and conversion of AFI’s earthquake book of business, while Covenir was engaged to provide a full suite of back-office processing for AFI, maintaining operational coverage for California residential properties distributed through the CPP network of 24 participating insurers.
Governance and rollout emphasized repeatable processes and coordinated program management across Insuresoft, CEA, and partner companies, completing the AFI conversion in less than six months. The program structure was positioned to accelerate subsequent PI onboarding through documented procedures and a centralized transaction-processing model.
Reported benefits from the deployment included economies of scale for CEA and its PIs, simplified data exchange between the central system and insurers, and operational efficiencies that CEA and Insuresoft described as ultimately benefiting CEA policyholders and supporting future product innovation.
