UKG Legacy UKG Workforce Central (ex Kronos Workforce Central) Workforce Management HCM n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 California Highway Patrol implemented UKG Workforce Central (ex Kronos Workforce Central) for Workforce Management within the Human Resources Section to formalize scheduling and pay calculation workflows. The implementation was executed with HRS staff participation, including committee membership from the Local Area Network Coordinator who assisted with software testing and configuration of scheduling and pay calculator functionality in UKG Workforce Central. Operational scope emphasized Position Control reporting and executive workforce planning, with UKG Workforce Central positioned as the core Workforce Management system for those functions. Configuration and functional workstreams centered on scheduling, pay calculation, and time and attendance accuracy. CHP personnel created internal electronic forms with automated calculations to reduce errors in employee pay and attendance corrections, and they ran validation exercises to confirm staff competency after training. Training and documentation responsibilities extended to Perceptive Content Document Manager administration, with separate end user training and functional validation exercises executed for document management workflows. Integrations and operational coverage were managed at the human resources and records level, with the Perceptive Content Document Manager database administrator supporting external offices and conducting quarterly access audits for agency staff. The team produced Management Information Retrieval System MIRS reports for the Position Control Unit and HR management and presented those outputs to the executive Workforce Planning Committee on a quarterly cadence. Administrative infrastructure work included creation and maintenance of shared e mail inboxes, confidential drive folders, an HRS internal website and SharePoint site, and an FMLA support site for staff eligibility and resources. Governance practices implemented alongside the application included committee based testing and rollout oversight, quarterly access audits for document management, and role based responsibilities such as acting Office of Employee Relations HR liaison for Conceal Carry CC approvals for retired CHP staff. The HRS team also supported Benefits Unit training and special projects directed by the HRS Commander, embedding operational workflows and access controls into ongoing HR governance and operational procedures.
