In 2015, Canadian Cancer Society implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial core. The deployment established a centralized financial platform to consolidate accounting, treasury, and procurement workflows for the organization’s Canadian operations and finance teams. The implementation explicitly positions Oracle NetSuite ERP to serve general ledger driven accounting and enterprise financial management for an organization of roughly 1,200 employees and the stated revenue scale.
Configuration work focused on standard ERP Financial modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, cash management, tax handling, and financial reporting. The project emphasized a rationalized chart of accounts, period close automation and standardized journal and intercompany posting rules, while configuring role based access controls and audit trail capabilities to support financial controls and compliance.
Architecturally, the implementation used Oracle NetSuite ERP as a cloud first, single instance SaaS architecture to centralize transactional data and harmonize ledgers across business units. The design incorporated native workflow automation for invoice and payment processing, built in reporting and consolidation capabilities, and extensible API based integration points to support future connections with other enterprise systems without prescribing specific third party integrations.
Governance activities included establishing finance process ownership, formalizing month end close procedures, and implementing segregation of duties policies within the NetSuite configuration. The rollout approach applied staged configuration and user training across finance and accounting teams, with emphasis on operationalizing standardized workflows and embedding audit controls into daily transaction processing.
