In 2012, Capital One implemented FIS GETPAID as an AR Automation solution. Configuration work emphasized AR functional workflows common to AR Automation deployments, including invoice presentment configuration, payment posting and cash application rules, collections workflow templates, and role based access definitions. Documentation produced in FIS GETPAID captured parameter settings, approval routing, exception handling guidance, and step by step user procedures to standardize operational execution.
Operational scope focused on corporate receivables and billing teams, with documentation intended to support training, governance, and ongoing support processes. The prepared configuration and FAQ artifacts were used as authoritative references for change control, user onboarding, and incident resolution within the FIS GETPAID AR Automation deployment.

In 2016 Capital One implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Workday HCM rollout. The deployment targeted Absence and Leave Management alongside Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Performance Management, Time Management, Recruiting, Talent Management, and Time Tracking to support HR and Finance business functions across the enterprise.
Workday Absence Management was configured with custom calculated fields and a suite of custom reports using Workday Report Writer and BIRT. Functional work included absence configuration, time and absence integrations, and coordinated data validation for Talent Management and Recruiting prior to interface loads.
Integrations and interfacing were central to the implementation, with inbound and outbound integrations developed using Workday Studio, Document Transformation, Enterprise Interface Builder, Core Connectors, and web services technologies including XML, XSLT, XSD, and SOAP. Studio integrations extended into finance workflows including exchange rate feeds, customer aging exports, AP and AR feeds, and AP invoice ingestion into Workday, while ongoing integration maintenance covered Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Performance Management, and Time Tracking feeds.
Governance and operational support included impact analysis for International Assignment and Job Architecture changes, creation of global calculated fields, full lifecycle testing and validation of reports and integrations for major version updates twice a year, and use of the GEMINI tracker for production issue resolution. Deliverables and controls comprised functional design documents and technical design documents, test scenarios and test cases, and business training sessions to operationalize Workday Absence Management within Capital One’s HR and payroll processes.

In 2022, Capital One implemented AppWorx Workload Automation from Broadcom as part of its Business Process Management tooling to schedule and orchestrate backend job workflows for a Java and Node.js full stack application environment. The AppWorx Workload Automation deployment focused on automating recurring operational tasks used by application teams, including ETL and API-driven job sequences supporting transactional processes.
Configuration work centered on creating AppWorx job definitions, calendar and dependency-driven schedules, and reusable workflow templates that invoked Node.js services and Oracle database procedures. Workflows were implemented to handle API call sequencing, stored procedure execution, and asynchronous orchestration, with explicit error handling and retry logic consistent with workload automation patterns.
AppWorx was integrated with the documented application and infrastructure components, including Oracle Database for PL/SQL execution, Node.js and Express middleware that host business logic, Apigee gateway for API authentication and routing, Azure App Services and Nginx for runtime hosting, and Splunk and Azure Application Insights for logging and telemetry. Release and infrastructure artifacts were managed through GitLab, CI/CD was executed via Jenkins, and Azure resources and scaling configurations were provisioned with Terraform scripts, while Office 365 provided alerting channels.
Operational governance aligned AppWorx schedules with Agile delivery processes using JIRA for tasking and GitLab merge request policies for code control, with automated test gates authored in cucumber and Jasmine enforced in CI. Scheduling lifecycle, monitoring, and incident visibility were managed through Splunk and Application Insights, with AppWorx job definitions treated as part of the application release artifacts and operational runbooks.
