In 2017, Capstone Mechanical implemented Viewpoint Vista as its Construction ERP, replacing Sage 300CRE ex Timberline which was coming to end of life. The selection was led by IT Manager Ben Worley, who prioritized a mature product roadmap and the ability to deliver timelier and more accurate information across field and office operations.
The Viewpoint Vista deployment centralized core financials and project accounting and consolidated job costing and service management workflows to align with Capstone’s mechanical, plumbing, and automation contracting business functions. Data migration activities moved transactional and master records from Sage 300CRE ex Timberline into Viewpoint Vista as part of the go-live conversion. The implementation referenced Viewpoint’s development partner ecosystem, including MSI Data and Keystyle Data Solutions, to maintain interoperability with complementary solutions and to support future integrations and customizations.
Governance and rollout were organized around IT and operational stakeholders across Capstone’s field and office teams in Central Texas, emphasizing process standardization and improved field to office information flow. Capstone positioned Viewpoint Vista as a platform to support future feature sets and to help the company better serve customers with more timely and accurate information.
