Carrefour Egypt in 2012 deployed Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as its new ERP Financial application to replace a legacy finance system. The implementation focused on core financial modules—Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger—and established enterprise-wide setups such as chart of accounts, company/BU configurations, and finance hierarchy to standardize accounting structures across business units.
The rollout included creation and management of UDCs, batch UBEs and report versions, and period scopes for month, quarter and year-end processing. The JD Edwards environment was integrated into the broader finance reporting stack: financial consolidation and management reporting activities ran through SAP Business Objects Financial Consolidation (BFC), while operational reporting used Cartesis/FRX/BR toolsets; workstreams also covered intercompany reconciliation, rate table management, central manual entries for sales/actual/forecast/budget, budget reruns, and monthly sales data loading.
Operational ownership during and after deployment was handled by a Finance Systems Helpline Manager (2011–2018) who delivered user training and manuals, scheduled and supervised team tasks, maintained user security and access, supported monthly and quarter/year-end closings, assisted internal and external auditors with report extraction and data validation, and provided periodic financial data to corporate and government stakeholders.
