In 2022, Castorama implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial application. The deployment targeted core finance operations within Castorama France and established SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the transactional backbone for financial processing and control across the organization.
The implementation was configured to operate alongside SAP CAR and HR systems, aligning the ERP Financial backbone with customer activity and human resources capabilities. Functional scope included finance processing and incident handling workflows tied to sales support and data product touchpoints, reflecting an enterprise orchestration of transactional finance and supporting business processes.
Operational structure was organized under a Service Transition Manager who led a mixed local and offshore functional support team, with offshore resources located in India. The team managed incident offload, maintained complete product documentation for SaaS products, and executed formal handovers to ensure continuity of support, using agile methods to govern sprinted transition and operational tasks.
Governance and process changes centralized incident management and documentation ownership, impacting Finance, Sales Support, and Data Products functions. The program emphasized documented handovers and sustained functional support to stabilize run operations, and it explicitly enhanced Product Owner efficiency by offloading incident management to offshore teams in India as part of the support model.

In 2011, Castorama deployed Oracle Commerce Platform ( ex ATG Web Commerce ) to power its eCommerce storefront on castorama.fr, establishing the application as the primary platform for online product presentation and transaction capture. The implementation positioned Oracle Commerce Platform ( ex ATG Web Commerce ) as the core eCommerce engine for Castorama, supporting catalog publishing, merchandising, and storefront routing for the French market.
The deployment emphasized standard Oracle Commerce capabilities typical of the eCommerce category, including catalog management, rule-based merchandising and promotions, personalized content delivery, search and navigation, and checkout orchestration. Oracle Commerce Platform ( ex ATG Web Commerce ) was configured to handle product catalog taxonomy and merchandising rules, and to serve dynamic storefront pages and targeted offers managed by the marketing and merchandising teams.
Operational scope centered on Castorama’s online sales channel and the eCommerce, merchandising, and operations functions, with the platform configured to integrate at runtime with downstream order capture and inventory services at the API layer. Architectural implementation followed a multi-tier commerce pattern common to Oracle Commerce deployments, separating presentation, business logic, and data integration layers to support session management, catalog indexing, and runtime personalization.
Governance and operational ownership were aligned to centralized eCommerce and merchandising teams, enabling iterative updates to merchandising rules and content without direct code changes. Castorama Oracle Commerce Platform ( ex ATG Web Commerce ) eCommerce supports the company’s online retail sales and merchandising functions through a configurable merchandising engine and storefront management capabilities.

| Shippeo | Legacy | Shippeo Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platform | Real-Time Transportation Visibility | SCM | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 Castorama implemented Shippeo Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platform to automatically capture delivery information and objectively measure delivery performance. Castorama is a leading French DIY and home improvement retailer, part of the Kingfisher group, operating a network of 104 stores in France.
The deployment leveraged Real-Time Transportation Visibility capabilities such as GPS tracking and geofencing to capture arrival events automatically, removing the need for manual carrier inputs. Shippeo Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platform captured event timestamps at the point of arrival and instituted event driven visibility across approximately 70,000 annual deliveries, enabling objective measurement of carrier performance and logistics operations.
Operational coverage extended to external carriers, warehouse receiving teams, and store receiving staff, and the platform provided objective delivery timestamps that corrected unreliable timing data previously shown in Castorama's TMS. Warehouse teams use the platform to communicate proactively on shipment arrival times with stores, and carrier performance data is now measured reliably against automatically captured events.
Governance and process change focused on replacing a manual carrier reporting mission with automated event capture, shifting operational responsibility from retrospective manual entry to real time visibility and proactive logistics management. Philippe Duhamel Transportation Manager commented that the system allows Castorama to be proactive and dynamic with logistics operations, and the implementation enabled warehouse staff to coordinate arrival communications more proactively with store teams.
