In 2020, CDC Foundation implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP. Oracle NetSuite ERP, classified as ERP Financial, was integrated into the organization's fundraising and finance stack to provide centralized accounting and transaction processing.
The Oracle NetSuite ERP deployment focused on core financial management modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and donor transaction posting, aligning financial records with fundraising activity. Configuration work emphasized chart of accounts alignment, transaction mapping from fundraising systems, and role based access controls for finance and grants teams.
Salesforce technology provided real time data and dashboards and was integrated with Oracle NetSuite ERP to synchronize donor records and gift transactions. The foundation also connected Tableau for data visualization and Classy for campaign level fundraising, along with many other tools, to build operational visibility. These integrations supported operational coverage across fundraising, grant distribution, finance, analytics, and donor communications.
Governance and workflow adjustments established data handoffs and reporting processes so donor acquisition, acknowledgment, accounting, and fund distribution workflows were coordinated across systems. In 2020 CDC Foundation implemented GoodHire for BackGround Screening. GoodHire is embedded in the CDC Foundation candidate lifecycle to accept background check submissions from HR and to provide screening as part of the offer to onboarding workflow.
Operationally the HR Generalist processes and submits offer letters via DocuSign and Lever, then submits background checks to GoodHire, and completes personnel folders. Onboarding is processed through ADP where the team collects and processes 19 documents, and the HR Generalist assists candidates with benefits questions and manages offboarding and exit interview submissions. This positions GoodHire as the central background screening application within the HR onboarding and offboarding processes.
Governance is centered on HR operations with the HR Generalist coordinating screening requests, personnel folder completion, and integration points with DocuSign, Lever and ADP across the candidate lifecycle. The implementation covers pre hire screening, onboarding document orchestration, benefits engagement and offboarding workflows within CDC Foundation HR.

Salesforce Grants Management was embedded into the organization’s existing Salesforce environment to leverage a consolidated 360-degree view of nonprofit partners, fundraising activity, and grant distribution across programs that address infectious disease, chronic disease, and emergency response worldwide.
The implementation focused on core Grant Management capabilities, including centralized application intake and eligibility screening, structured review and award authoring workflows, automated disbursement tracking, and impact reporting. Configuration work aligned grant and award objects with fundraising and partner records, introduced automated notifications and approval steps, and enabled grantee engagement workflows to simplify applications and post-award reporting.
Operationally the deployment connected grant records to CDC Foundation fundraising and partner data in Salesforce, supporting coordinated activity across fundraising, program teams, and grants operations. The scope covered global program portfolios and public-private partnership workflows, using a unified CRM data model to reduce manual handoffs and speed visibility into fund status and grantee progress.
Governance changes emphasized centralized workflow ownership and standardized application and disbursement processes, while data instrumentation supported outcome sharing and program effectiveness analysis. The Salesforce Grants Management implementation was explicitly intended to reduce administrative tasks, make it easier for grantees to engage, and help the CDC Foundation deliver funds more quickly during high-demand periods such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
